[SOLVED] Why is PulseAudio disabled in all packages it's supported in?

I know this issue isn't going to be a big one for now, but why is/was vlc, audacious, mplayer, sdl and others compiled with PulseAudio disabled? Each one of those programs is compiled with OSS support, which is also in community. I just don't see the reason :S

because pulse was in community and we have a policy to not depends/makedepends in packages from community. oss support is compiled because of oss currently in kernel and the one from community is a newer version and a replacement for the one from kernel.

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Search the forum or mailing lists for recent discussions of what is happening with pulse audio...  the situation has changed over the last week...

Thanks for explaining that to me Wonder, I wasn't aware OSS was in the kernel as I thought it was dropped for ALSA. A mistake on my part smile

And yup Allan, I'm aware PA is going to Extra which excites me! It'll cut down on my AUR packages list now for sure smile
