Anybody have a working xvmc support with Intel IGP's ?

I can't be sure when this happend for the first time, but can anyone play videos with xvmc output ?

cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep xvmc
[    32.643] (II) intel(0): [XvMC] i965_xvmc driver initialized.

But when I select xvmc as output in gnome-mplayer (tried it on smplayer too when I was testing KDE 4.6) and the playback just stops instantly. Output of gnome-mplayer --really-verbose

thread reader: Could not find matching colorspace - retrying with -vf scale...
thread reader: Opening video filter: [scale]
thread reader error: The selected video_out device is incompatible with this codec.
thread reader:
thread reader error: Try appending the scale filter to your filter list,
thread reader error: e.g. -vf spp, scale instead of -vf spp.
thread reader:
thread reader error: Too many buffered pts

xvmc support has been abandoned for 915GM but I have 965GM and no go...
