I'm sure there's a good reason (speed?) but why does Arch install some apps in /opt/ (like firefox) while others go in/usr/bin (like gaim)? Is it the comes with gnome vs. doesn't come with gnome thing? In which case why not just put everything in /usr/bin?
i believe this has been talked about on the forum before..i don't have the link for it though..maybe someone else does?
