Qingy misses keystrokes

I have qingy running on two virtual consoles on my laptop, and whenever I am in qinqy, the keyboard works unreliably, and random keystrokes
are skipped when typing the password. I have to type the password slowly, and verify that a star is echoed for every key I press.

I have:

disable-module=linux_input

in

/etc/directdbrc.conf

Without it I have the common problem of every key being counted twice.

Does anyone have the keyboard working reliably with qingy ?
