Black screen rebooting or shutting down
This is not a big problem but, I can seen system log when booting archlinux, but can only see a black screen when rebooting or shutting down system from X (Xfce).

Oh, okay. I had this problem the other day and it was caused by Plymouth still being installed. (It gives you a splashscreen on boot).
The only things I can think of are another bootsplash program like fbsplash is installed, or a problem with the tty that x is started from (I am certainly no expert, but i THINK x is supposed to start from tty 7, and if it starts from a different tty it might cause this problem)
Maybe someone smarter will be along in a minute...
