Recently got some new hardware (ASUS M4A87TD EVO) and I am rather pleased with it, but for some reason, the headphone output in alsamixer is greyed out now. Not to mention that the output was active until I ran an alsaconf to try and enable my SPIDF output in the back. The headphone output is much more important than the SPDIF one. I'd like to get both working if possible, but mainly the headphone output.
Any help would be appreciated.

}EDIT: It seems like the front mic input isn't working either oddly enough. The really strange thing though is that if a microphone is plugged into that jack, it makes sound cut in and out rapidly over the speakers. Odder still, is that if both headphones and a microphone are plugged in, I hear that rapidly cutting in and out sound though the headphones, albeit very quiet.
Not to mention that now adjusting the PCM output volume doesn't affect the actual output volume at all.
Not sure at all what's going on.

Well, don't I feel stupid. It wasn't connected correctly on the motherboard.
PCM still doesn't adjust the volume however. So just set mpd to use master, no biggie.
Still can't get SPDIF working, but I don't really care.
