Asus EeePC 1000HA

I'm trying to install arch on an EEE 1000ha.
I've got a USB disk drive that I've used to install other OS's on this device, and am using the core-dual image. When booting from the live CD, it hangs at mapping /new_root. From there it drops to the limited shell, and I'm unable to do anything.
How do I get Arch installed on this device?
yes I've checked the wiki page on the matter, it's of no help.

Re: Asus EeePC 1000HA

I've been having trouble getting from USB.
Did you try unetbootin? Has been working for me. You could try another drive, maybe format it to ext3 instead of vfat.

For me too it's been a bit of fiddling around. Not sure what the problem has been actually. This was for a 1005HA-H.

yeah, I've only got one drive that's not in use, and I know that it won't go bootable, as I've tried to do flashdrive linux installs before on it, so I'm going the CD route, but as I mentioned, that isn't working
