Thanks for the head's up, AI. I played book 1 and have been waiting since the release of book 2 for an announcement of the availability of the Linux client. Now to go spend some money :-)

How to distribute a commercial game via AUR? How does it work? I can't get a clue from looking at the PKBUILD.

Awebb: If you enter a registration key the demo becomes the full version.

does the instalation from AUR works for you? It tells me some error about non-existing archive and/or missing URL of it....
Thanks for the GNU/Linux. EDIT:Thanks for the GNU/Linux, Linux guru, for the manuals and wikis.

You need to download the game seperately and place it in the same directory. It's not possible to url it, the game is hosted on fileshare sites.

Kind of reminds me of Ultima VII

Bought my copy.

Yep, bought it too. Can't resist a native linux CRPG.

I liked book 1 and I'm more than happy to fork out for book 2. Always keen to support games for Linux!

This looks pretty cool. Will have to make some time on my day off and try it. Thanks for the PKGBUILD AI.

This is really great - the game works perfectly on my modest system... Note for 64 bit users: the lib32-libxxf86vm package is the only thing thats needed to make it work on x86_64 :]

Sorry for the dumb question, but... what do you mean with 'the same directory'? I'm trying to install the game with yaourt but I don't know where to place the downloaded tar.gz.
Perhaps it doesn't work with yaourt?
Sorry for my English. Feel free to point out my errors.

Exactly. You gotta run makepkg yourself with the file in the same place. Or you might be able to drop the file in the temporary directory yaourt makes (under /tmp/<package-name>).
It would be nice if the PKGBUILD just included the binary though. I don't see a problem with this, as the full version is just unlocked from within the freely available demo.

I see, thank you.
I'll install it manually then, not big deal as I felt curious about the game (I don't have a payment method, so I'll run the demo).

I could upload it to dropbox but I'm not sure if it's legal that way even if it's a demo which you can unlock when you buy it.
EDIT: I've uploaded it to dropbox, so you don't have to manually downloading the game.
