Kernel Panic when putting BCM4312 in monitor mode

So, I've just installed Arch on my new cheap no-name notebook, and installed the latest b43-firmware from AUR. When trying to put the wireless card in monitor mode (either through kismet, airmon-ng or iwconfig) it works, but as soon as it starts receiving packets everything stops and my caps lock LED starts blinking (I don't have a scroll lock LED, but I suppose this is a kernel panic?). The same notebook can monitor fine with Backtrack 4 R1 out of the box, so it's not a kernel problem, I suppose. I'm using the latest kernel. Any thoughts? Sorry if I missed something obvious.

$ uname -r
2.6.36-ARCH
$ lspci -nn | grep Net
02:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g [14e4:4315] (rev 01)
$ pacman -Q | grep b43
b43-firmware 4.178.10.4-1
b43-fwcutter 013-1
$ pacman -Q iw kismet aircrack-ng
iw 0.9.20-1
kismet 2010_07_R1-1
aircrack-ng 1.1-1

Oh, I see that I shouldn't have assumed that it was a driver problem and searched for b43. Sorry for parroting a known bug.
