Hi, today I have cleaned a bit my system by removing almost all my packages excluding those inside base (and relative dependencies).
I then reinstalled all the system (Xorg, DBUS, Hal, KDE) and got back my system up.
Everything seemed to go fine , but ... KDE doesn't shutdown anymore. It used to shutdown perfectly fine before my "cleaning". I installed the "kde-meta" group (previously I had KDE installed through the "kde" group)
What happens is that clicking the "Shutdown" button makes the screen turn in greyish color (like when the system is going to close KDE and shutdown), but nothing happens. I can still click on the KDE menu or open Yakuake while in this state, but the screen remains in a greyish tone.
The only way to shutdown is through a "shutdown -h now".
Do you have any ideas on what is happening ?(my user is a member of the power group, I have DBUS and HAL properly started at boot).

Try turning off system notification sound or switch to a different phonon backend.

Switching to Phonon-gstreamer worked.
Now the obvious question : why?
There is a way to enable phonon-xine (that I always used) and retain the shutdown functionality?

I've also been hit by this bug.
System sound are recorded in Ogg Vorbis file. For some unknown reasons, Xine just stop playing Vorbis. I've to removed xine completely, delete .xine from home then reinstall to get it to play ogg file again.
