and line from lspci about audio

00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 03)

If some more informations are needed, please let me know. This error is very annoying, so please help me! ;)

Re: hda-intel errors

Hope this thread is still being watched... maybe by someone else with the same problem.

Same issue here. With exactly the same specifications.

i added

options snd-hda-intel model=medion

to my /etc/modprobe.d/sound.conf

works fine but now i seem to be unable to use all 6 channels via my three jacks.
also tried model=3jack-6ch-dig where i can usw all channels but it makes me unable to use the onboardspeakers.

Anybody found a solution by now?

Re: hda-intel errors

I have the same audio device on HP 6530b lappy without problems - it started working properly out of box. It worked ok on all kernels since winter (since 2.6.30 IIRC). The only solution I know about hda-intel is messing around option hda-intel model=$something, e.g. "laptop","basic" etc. In Debian I got audio working by adding "option hda-intel model=laptop index=0" at THE END of /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf

And please specify your laptop, because chipset also makes sense. And more exact situation when audio player crashes. Have you tried other players (VLC, Audacious, ...) ?

Re: hda-intel errors

Well even though its not exactly the right thread to handle with my issue I'm going to give it a try.

When i first was introduced to Arch everything worked perfektly. After I got my new Notebook ( Nexoc E713 GT ) everything worked out fine on it too exept my graphics support. Well that problem disappeart after I got more experienced with Arch.
But after an update ( do not know wich kernelupdate it was cause I first did not noticed the change) my sound support was - let's say not perfekt -

So I started to google and read Wikis and Boards and all that after nearly one year I still found no solution to it.

So the problem is like I said earlier, that i can't get all options to work at the same time.
Headphones - 6ch sound - Recording - etc.

I tracked the two options
- medion
- 3stack-6ch-dig

for the model parameter down
-> at least I think so, after endless trys they seem give the best results

/etc/modprobe.d/sound.conf

ptions snd-hda-intel model=***
alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
alias sound-slot-0 snd-hda-intel

It would be so great if someone could help me getting my perfekt sound experience back!
