kmix used to have a toolbar with the items "file", "settings" and "help". Now when I try to get the mixer window, I get instead an untitled window for "playback devices", "capture devices", "playback streams" and "capture streams" with one device each, with one slider each, in playback devicers and capture devices - and nothing in playback streams and capture streams.
Looks nice, but there seems to be no info on this "new look" available anywhere. Any clues, anyone?

Well it's still there for me. Perhaps you are using a theme with menubar hiding capabilities. Try pressing Ctrl+M or maybe Alt+Ctrl+M.

Thanks, ctrl-M got my toolbar back.
However: there is still only one playback channel/device (and two capture channels/devices) there, so I cannot use kmix as a mixer anymore. alsamixer works ok, though.
Also, the "streams" options are still empty.

If you go to Settings > Configure Channels are you able to drag them from the left pane (available) to the right (visible)?

Should have been mentioned in the kmix handbook, but apparently that has not been changed since 'Revision 3.7 (2010-02-18)'.
