archboot released as stable before subversion...

I get this error when executing pacman -Syu:

warning: cannot resolve "subversion>=1.6.13-1", a dependency of "archboot"
:: the following package(s) cannot be upgraded due to unresolvable dependencies:
      archboot

Do you want to skip the above package(s) for this upgrade? [y/N]

---

after doing a bit of searching, I find that the necessary subversion release is still in testing... has it proven to be so unstable that it wasn't able to be released with archboot?  if so, why was archboot released without it?  generally annoying stalemate that I hope will be resolved soon.

bug reports go to the bug tracker or they do not get fixed.

Re: archboot released as stable before subversion...

does this qualify as a bug? it's more like a missing package... or am I oversimplifying things?

Re: archboot released as stable before subversion...

if "pacman -S <pkg>" fails due to dependencies not met, then it is a bug.

Re: archboot released as stable before subversion...

I bump the depends with each release, you can ignore this because subversion is only needed for svn checkouts.
When I release a new ISO I push the files to extra, sometimes I miss the depends from testing.

Re: archboot released as stable before subversion...

so does that mean I wait for the new subversion to get the new archboot or force the new archboot to install?  I figure it's updated for a reason, so I just wanna make sure I'm not missing out on anything important.

Re: archboot released as stable before subversion...

In this case you can force the archboot install, because archboot only uses subversion for svn checkouts.

Did I ever mention that versioned deps are simply a bad idea in most cases? ;-)
