Hi,
I am new to Arch linux, and I really like it, but since today i got a problem that i can't solve by myself...
When I plugged my EXT4 or Fat32 usb pen, and remove it without unmounting nothing bad happens, nautilus close the window the icon disapears.. everything is normal.
But if I do the same thing with my Usb pen formatted (on Windows 7) with NTFS, a Kernel Panic appears with a NTFS error code...
It is normal or it is any way to solve the problem ?
Thanks in advance,
Luis Da Costa

Doesn't sound at all normal. Are you able to give more detail about exactly what happens? e.g., what do you mean by 'a kernel panic appears'?

Either way removing removable devices without unmounting (which should normally sync) is bad practice... I'm sure Nautilus has an Eject button?

I'll reinforce what .:B:. said, removing a device _before_ unmounting it is a very bad idea, you are asking for trouble if you keep doing it regularly and you will probably be here sooner rather than later asking for help to recover your files because of that.
Take my words as a friendly warning, this things have a tendency to come back to bite you at the worst of times, and trying to recover data will take you more time and effort that properly unmounting the device before removing it.
