Hello all,
I have the terminus-font package installed, but terminus doesn't show up in xfontsel or xlsfonts. The font files (pcf.gz) appear to be where they are supposed to be in /usr/share/fonts/local/. I have run 'mkfontscale', 'mkfontdir' and 'fc-cache -fvs' which the wiki seems to indicate might be helpful. Anything I am missing?
I can use Terminus with xft apps, but the core fonts appear to be unavailable.

IIRC, you should run:
xset fp rehash

Try
xset +fp /usr/share/fonts/local

Like a boss! Ran both commands, and it seems to be working now. Not sure who to thank, but thanks to both of you for replying. :-)

'xset fp rehash' doesn't help here, but 'xset +fp /usr/share/fonts/local' does :-)
You can
xset -fp /usr/share/fonts/local
to "undo" (notice the minus sign: '-fp' instead '+fp').
