Installing a 32-bit deb package on a 64-bit system

I have a Canon Pixma IP2600 printer. To my knowledge, there are no 64-bit drivers for it in Linux. However, there are debian packages from Canon's website which I have downloaded to use (I've mostly followed the directions at http://www.codigomanso.com/en/2009/06/i … 4-64-bits/ ). What are the steps that I should take to install these .deb packages into my 64-bit Arch Linux installation? Convert them into tarballs? What programs should I use?

Yeah there seems to be ones for the ip2500 and ip2700 but not the 2600. Somewhere, somebody is laughing at me.

Also, I found https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=82835 Seems like a similar situation, I will try getting these to work and report back.

You can probably just edit the source and name of the ip2700 one or something like that....
