Upgraded to latest kernel lost firefox

Selecting firefox internet gives error message "The app has been upgraded but your sqlite version is too old".

The sqlite3-7.4-1 package  is installed.

What can cause this anomaly?

EDIT: System is x86_64.

The usual: pick the old version from the cache, if you still have it. If not, get one from ARM http://arm.konnichi.com/search/

Re: Upgraded to latest kernel lost firefox

Is the old one installed with pacman -U  without removing the latest?

Yeah, the current one will get removed automatically (if it was installed with pacman).

Re: Upgraded to latest kernel lost firefox

Installed the previous version with the same problem with firefox.

I have tried re-install of several packages previously to no avail.  Perhaps I have to try a new mirror for an upgrade.

I know it's from gentoo but "orphaned copy of libsqlite3.so somewhere in your system" may be the culprit..

do this:

pacman -Q sqlite3 xulrunner
LD_DEBUG=files firefox > log 2>&1

pastebin that log and lets see from where is loading sqlite

what are you talking about? Is NOT suppose to print anything. all output is redirected into the "log" file

Re: Upgraded to latest kernel lost firefox

My responses were:

sqlite3 3.7.4-1
xulrunner 1.9.2.13-2
The DEBUG procedure ...aborted.

that can't be the cause. note that guy is using --force BY DEFAULT and this can cause problems.

if this was indeed the cause, check for pacnew files

Re: Upgraded to latest kernel lost firefox

A further observation:

Using qtfm file manager I am unable to select files in /etc, such as .../etc/rc.d.....

The error statement about sqlite appears for all file types in /etc...file types only, not the folders.

Am able to print with HP printer (uses sqlite...thunderbird functions, jumanji functions..mirage functions, thunderbird functions, vlc functions.
