Using awesome with vnc

Hello,

I am using Tightvnc on my computer and i am now using xfce4 now i want to switch to awesome wm i have it installed from aur. But when i connect though vnc i only see a grey grid and no desktop is it possible to use awesome as DE for vnc ?

No it is not. Because cairo has problems without xrender, and awesome uses cairo heavily. Bug report: https://awesome.naquadah.org/bugs/index … ask_id=656
