Change pointer in gnome

how do i do this? i tried installing a new gnome theme (specifically for the pointer) and it didn't change anything, i also tries installing some xcursor stuff from pacman but still nothing. i've googled this and the only solutions that i've been able to find are the ones i tried. it isnt that big of an issue however it's something i would like to have done as well as know how to do for future reference.

Thanks.

Re: Change pointer in gnome

GCursor is what you want. Nice and easy GTK Program.

Re: Change pointer in gnome

Try using this package to change the cursor:

http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=36585

gnome-fix -c [cursor name]

Re: Change pointer in gnome

GCursor does essentially what the (for lack of a better description) gnome theme manager does... which isn't really what i want.
@anonymous_user, im not sure how to use this. i downloaded the tarball and all it had was the PKGBUILD file yikes
