Default sound with ALSA

So I am trying to set the default sound output via 'gstreamer-properties'

I set it to my USB Device and can hear sound through test. I close the applet and then everything still loads to my computer speakers not my usb headphones. What can I do to fix this? I recently switch from pulseaudio because I couldn't use two sound requiring apps at once

Re: Default sound with ALSA

gstreamer isn't the right place. See FAQ.

Re: Default sound with ALSA

I swear I have done both of those.

This is my /etc/asound.conf

pcm.!default {
    type hw
    card 1
    device 0
}
[ron@myhost ~]$ cat /proc/asound/cards

[ron@myhost ~]$ lsusb

It still defaults through the computer speakers.
