No more privoxy

Privoxy is no longer working?

I know the configuration has not changed from the time it was functioning correctly but there has been at least one full system update since then.

"Privoxy was unable to socks4a-forward your request http://archlinux.org through localhost: SOCKS request rejected or failed."

I have tested with all the /etc/rc.d/privoxy start /etc/rc.d/tor stop commands and there does not seem to be a problem.

One thing I have read elsewhere (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1305938) is that "/usr/sbin/privoxy --user privoxy /etc/privoxy/config" works while "/usr/sbin/privoxy --pidfile /var/run/privoxy.pid --user privoxy /etc/privoxy/config" doesn't, which seems to be the case, but the discussion thread predates the time when I had privoxy / tor working before.

Re: No more privoxy

I commented out that 'forward' line in my privoxy config and have no problem with privoxy. It seems to work fine. But I don't know what that line is supposed to do and I don't use it with tor, so YMMV.
