Goodmorning,
I recently bought a VPS and I would like to run Arch Linux on it.
The company providing me with the VPS said they could arrange this for me if I could send them an image. Well I thought this is simple so I did send them a link to the i686 download page.
However they now got back to me with the news that they do not need the installation image but some sort of disk image. I guess they need some image to put in their virtual machine.
I did search around on the internet but I got results from 2006, also in the download section of this website there are only installation images.
My question now is:
Is there a disk image of some kind available for Arch Linux?

Can't you just load up a VM, install Arch on it, and send them the resulting image?

I would assume that they expect a complete setup and I doubt that they are willing to setup a complete system for you, since that would mean additional effort for them (except that your contract includes that work).
If they would be willing to do this additional work, they could download and use the iso images provided on the download page.
So I would say that Xyne is right and you have to install and setup Arch in a VM and send them this image.

you could also try varch

I installed VirtualBox and installed Arch on it. Then exported the installation into an ova file.
However when I did send this to them they explained me that they needed a tar of the entire filesystem.
So I created a tar and everything was fixed
