Hi, I am trying to get Gnome working but I can't get card drives to automount. I have a multicard reader plugged in through USB. I believe it used to work. I have an up-to-date system with fam replaced by gamin.
The card drives show up when no disk is in. When I insert a disk, the drive disappears.
dmesg
shows that the drive was plugged in and I can mount manually just fine.
Any idea what the problem could be? Where can I get logging information for gnome's automounting software?
Thanks!

Presume dbus and hal are set up, you are a member of the correct groups

I'm not positive if this is related, but I ran into this article a few minutes ago. Perhaps it can help you.

dbus and hal are in the DAEMONS list in rc.conf. I am a member of hal and dbus.

I'm not sure. Perhaps it may be an issue with permissions. See when you mount manually you probably sudo mount blah but your normal user may simply not have the apropriate permissions. I may be wrong but it's still something to look into.

If I plug in a USB stick, it never shows up under Computer (but registers in dmesg).
