Hey all,
I experience problems with SLIM, which are reflected in my slim.log (see below). Logging in to Openbox works perfectly, but when I logout back to SLIM and want to
go to the console via the "exit" command entered into the prompt, an X-cursor appears and SLIM does not disappear. I have to Ctrl+Alt+F1 to go back to the console. Still, I'm in runlevel 5. How can I terminate runlevel 5? Also, the slim.log shows several other errors, related to /usr/bin/xauth. I found that whenever I log in as a user, a specific .Xauthority file gets created for that user. Nonetheless, I can login as whatever user I want.
I dont have specific .xinitrc, only a global one.
I have the following configuration:
Arch Linux Kernel 2.6.32-lts on a Samsung N150 Netbook
/etc/slim.conf: http://pastebin.com/EMK7f4yF
/etc/inittab: http://pastebin.com/DbC7HGhH
/etc/rc.conf: http://pastebin.com/g0Si7s1k
/etc/xinit/xinitrc: http://pastebin.com/qDSft8XK
/var/log/slim.log after one succesful login and trying the exit command afterwards: http://pastebin.com/cZ522WKE
/var/log/Xorg.0.log: http://pastebin.com/7vw3dJ77
Can somebody help me out here and maybe point to some misconfigurations?
Thank you in advance

Yes of course - especially the part Configuration for Single Environments. I don't really know where else to look. I also read almost all of the Xorg Wiki page and of course the Beginners guide.
Edit: I found another problem that might be related to that - at least it's a fact that it's not working properly.
1. When I startx, and go back to the console via Ctr+Alt+F1, I see that the X Server output a "hostname: Host name lookup failure".. kinda weird?
hostname gives "syg-4", which is correct..
2. echo $DISPLAY when running runlevel 5 results in an empty output. I don't even know what DISPLAY I'm using.
It's true that I'm not really a pro when it comes to Xorg and whatnot, and maybe it's trivial.. but I'm new to Linux in general and don't grasp all concepts yet.
Thanks

what if you create your own .xinitrc script in your home dir
~/.xinitrc
and add
exec openbox
