Hi,
I recently did a complete reinstall and noticed when I open a pdf file and reopen it later, it fails to remember the page I'm on and other settings such as maximized, % zoom, etc. Before the re installation it would always remember my previous settings, but now it opens like it has just been freshly installed every time: minimized and fit screen width...
Any suggestions ?
EDIT: Solution Solved! I use Okular now

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

It's a bug in the latest version (2.30), apparently related to a switch to a new Gnome metadata system; see here:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=606090
In the meantime, downgrading to the previous version (2.28.2-1) restores functionality.

I have the latest version, still it doesn't remember the last position.
[hardik@sunshine: ~ ]$ pacman -Qs evince
local/evince 2.30.1-1 (gnome-extra)
Simply a document viewer

I have 2.30.1-2 and it still doesn't remember last position either . I guess I'll have to be a little more patient.

@Loafers maybe you should reopen this: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=606090

Good idea. I opened a new bug report and the developer said you need to have gvfs installed. Everything works fine now. Thanks!

Apparently after an update, this no longer works...

I have the same problem. I have updated to evince-2.32.0-2 and the problem still persist. Can someone solve this because it is very annoying.

Try posting in bugzilla. I remember opening a new bug report... don't remember what happened to it. I gave up on waiting for a patch and just reverted to the old version and blocked pacman from updating.
