Pacman --ignore, am I doing it wrong?

I want to install gnome and some extra packages, but there are certain ones I don't want. The wiki assures me that there will be "an option to skip these packages," but the standard

pacman -S gnome gnome-extras

gives me no such option.

So I tried:

pacman -S --needed --ignore 'tomboy,sound-juicer,nautilus-cd-burner,gnome-terminal,gnome-screensaver,totem' gnome gnome-extra gnome-system-tools gksu gamin

But the packages are still selected for installation! Am I using --ignore incorrectly?

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Re: Pacman --ignore, am I doing it wrong?

That would be the issue. Darn.

Thanks!

For now you could specify to ignore those packages in /etc/pacman.conf ?

Good idea, but according to the bug report:

Tried IgnorePkg and IgnoreGroup in pacman.conf too; they don't work either.
