pacman listing

I'm a couple days new to Arch, but 2 1/2 years into Linux and I like both.  I dual boot with Fedora Core and Arch on my P3 tower.  I really like pacman (I thought it was a game till I read more) and am wondering if it's possible to get a listing of the software the repositories have...that way I know how to spell the names?

Re: pacman listing

Just type

pacman -Ss {insert any keyword that you think reflect the software}

For example, if I want to install firefox I just type

pacman -Ss firefox

after that pacman will give you info of all package that has firefox in their name or description. You can choose the correct software from that listing.

Re: pacman listing

found the answer in my palm pilot...I installed the pacman manpage with plucker:

pacman -l

List all files in the specified repositories. Multiple repositories can be specified on the command line.
