Gigabyte GA-8S649MF mobo with an onboard Realtek 8201CL

Hey guys! Wow, iIt's been a long while since my last post on the forums. Not the kind of a thing I'd like to post after such a break, rather would just post flowers and such.. but.. I just got a new (to me) computer and while trying to install arch, I ran into network troubles and after a bit of a research, it seems that the network driver is not loaded correctly. As the topic says, it's a Gigabyte GA-8S649MF motherboard with an onboard Realtek 8201CL chip. Currently sis190 driver is loaded at boot, but trying to setup eth0 will just hang the system (which by the way seems kind of odd to me..)
I have been able to connect twice, but was stupid enough not to check the driver then. So it obviously is working but the auto detection is not quite there. I'll keep on researching and will post if something new comes up. Thanks in advance!

edit: I found this thread which kind of enlightens things up a bit, but I have to wait till tomorrow for some more tests.

Hmmkay.. so a bit more investigation on this. The chip seems to be recognized as sis191 (which is Gigabit LAN) instead of the wanted sis190 ("normal" LAN). I haven't been able to find a way to force it to load as sis190, maybe someone can tell if it's possible? I'm not getting that far with this, so I'm thinking os just disabling the damn thing and buying a cheap WORKING card instead. It would save a lot of trouble Google just basically tells me I'm not the only one having trouble with this one.
BTW, isn't the realtek 8139 one of the cheap and well supported chips? Just in case I'm off to get a new card.

Might help with output of lspci .... but yes adding known working hardware is the best and easiest option....
