[solved]How to Set Battery Limits with Tp_smapi?

I have the latest version of tp_smapi (0.40-3) and would like to set the start/stop charge thresholds for the battery (supposed to be supported in the X201 line). However, the wiki page offers:

echo 40 > /sys/devices/platform/smapi/BAT0/start_charge_thresh
echo 80 > /sys/devices/platform/smapi/BAT0/stop_charge_thresh

to set the limits. My file system does not have a 'smapi' folder under 'platform'. Are the instructions out of date or why would I not have those subfolders?

I've had to downgrade my kernel and headers to 2.26.35 for my system to work, but everything else should be up to date within the last month.

edit: sorry, for some reason I've managed to skip over the MODULES part of tp_smapi installation when I've gone through this wiki...

Just to make sure... you have loaded the tp_smpi module after installing the package?

modprobe tp_smapi
