KDE notifications bug

http://img51.imageshack.us/img51/3936/snapshot3z.png

Notifications appear on the bottom right and in the top left of the screen. Anyone knows how to make the top ones to disapear. It's really annoying to see the same msg twice on your screen

Re: KDE notifications bug

It'd be good if you posted what version of KDE you were using.  This may or may not be a currrent bug.

That said, please read the wiki page concerning the forums.  It's preferrable to post thumbnails rather than full screenshots.

Re: KDE notifications bug

I'm using KDE 4.5 (kdebase-workspace-4.5.5-1) the bug started yesterday night after an update. I tried reinstall kde (pacman -Syu kde) but it didn't solve anything. I have to mention that after the update i deleted a file.plasmoid from my desktop folder (i couldn't install it so i deleted) and system curushed. After restart my deafault panel disappeared. After i added it again i see 2x notifications. Please help:)

Re: KDE notifications bug

I had this problem a while ago, after spending a lot of time trying to identify the config to change I gave up... I deleted all my plasma config files (i.e. the user-specific files created for each account) and started again i.e. adding widgets, organising panels etc. which solved the problem for me.  Sorry it's a vague answer but it might save you time and frustration to bite bullet and follow my suggestion if no one else has a better tip on how to resolve this.

Re: KDE notifications bug

The files are in ~/.kde4/config.  As was mentioned though, if you delete all your config files you'll have to reconfigure all your settings for KDE on a per-application basis, so be prepared...

Re: KDE notifications bug

The plasma config files are these: ~/.kde4/share/config/plasm*

Re: KDE notifications bug

I deleted the config files then reboot run plasma-desktop and:          [root@myhost home]# plasma-desktop
<unknown program name>(1923)/: KUniqueApplication: Cannot find the D-Bus session server:  "Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken."

<unknown program name>(1922)/: KUniqueApplication: Pipe closed unexpectedly.

Removing config files didn't change a thing my desktop looks exactly like before and have the same bug
