Alsa Config File

Hello:

In order to get my internal mic working, I'm trying to add

options snd-hda-intel enable_msi=1

to my "/etc/sound.conf" file as explained on the wiki here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Al … ot_working

However, there is no /etc/sound.conf file on my system by default, and adding one manually and performing the explained procedure does nothing. There is also no /etc/modprobe.d/alsa.conf that I would have used in Ubuntu, and some of the other config files from the wiki aren't it either. Locate also comes up empty with locate alsa.conf and I don't want to waste all day searching...

Do you know where I add a setting as above? Where is alsa.conf?

Re: Alsa Config File

I'm pretty sure you need to put that in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa.conf, because it looks like options to the kernel module. Anyway, this *always* works: if documentation references a file you don't have, create it.
