"Disk Error" before Grub, but everything boots up fine... [Solved]

I've been a happy Arch user for about 3 months now, but I decided recently that I wanted to reinstall and system encrypt my entire drive in the process. I followed this guide, and it works just great...

Except before Grub loads, I get the message:

Disk Error
Press any key to restart...

I was traumatized after I first saw this, thinking I'd have to do it all over again, but I pressed a button and... Grub loaded, Arch loaded, everything went fine.

But it'd drive me insane to have to press a key during the boot process like that. Anyone know what the problem might be? Should I try re-installnig grub? Something up with the partitioning / mbr maybe?

Any help is appreciated, thanks! (I can post diagnostic / hardware info on request, I just don't know what information is relevant)

I'm an idiot. Turns out the USB drive that has the keyfile on it also had some files from when I was trying to flash a BIOS by USB drive, so it was attempting to boot them, failing, then reverting to the hard disk.
