Skype kills my wireless connection

Hi,

I have a usb wireless dongle, ralink 3070 chipset. I got it to work with the following in rc.conf

MODULES=(... !rt2x00usb !rt2x00lib !rt2800usb rt2870sta)

I have wicd set as my wireless manager in gnome.  When I start logging in skype the connection dies immediately ifconfig shoots to 99% and everything just freezes.  Not quite sure what to do, or how to get it to work.

Here's some output from dmesg. It didn't all fit in pastie

Odd, I'm not sure why skype would be running ifconfig, could it be trying to use another interface? What's the output of ifconfig -a?
