Hi all, i just started using archlinux and i am thoroughly pleased! What a great os...i decided i would do a test install on my eee 901 before i went for a install on my server. While adding a little flash to my arch install i ran into issues with splashy. I followed the guide on the arch wiki but while booting splashy gets to "Loading Daemons.." and seemingly freezes...But if i switch to tty7 i get my slim login. In /etc/splash.conf i have:
DEFAULT_TTY=7
SWITCH_TTY=7
CONSOLE_PRINT=true
SPLASH_DEBUG=false
I have tried with serveral themes (not forgetting to re-create the initramfs) but still no go.
Another issue i'm having is that on shutdown splashy only appears for a very breif period (not for even 1/2 shutdown..the progress bar just shoots down and then shows normal shutdown/kernel output. Than ks for the help
ps: if you need any logs or extra info feel free to ask

another note..i have tried DEFAULT_TTY=8,7 and SWITCH_TTY=1,7 both do not work (Same issue at bootup)..the shutdown issue resides no matter /etc/splash.conf (as expected)

Are you running "mkinitcpio -p kernel26" after each change?
