Hi,
amarok 2.4 was released and the release notes say:
"New UPnP Collection detects and plays media on UPnP devices on the network"
I've updated amarok but I can't find a way to use this feature. Are there any additional dependencies?

If I am not wrong, the functionality is not fully implemented in KDE. For upnp to work in Amarok, KDE needs cagibi and kio-upnp, which in turn needs the hupnp library at compile time. I tried to build kio-upnp after installing the hupnp-svn package from aur, but sth is seriously messed up and the hupnp library cannot be linked while compiling kio-upnp. Unfortunately, Google didn't yield much information. I would also like to use upnp in Amarok, but for the time being I'm back to clementine.

i did not have a problem compiling libhupnp-svn from aur. I just had to add 'x68_64' to the array of supported platforms, because of some reason the author of the package did not anticipate users using a 64 bit platform.
could you post a kio-upnp PKGBUILD?
If not in aur, than at least here?

Hi, I know this post is old but I've created the kio-upnp-ms package (and whole HUpnp lib stuff as dependencies) and uploaded it on AUR. Obviously there are still some problems with UPnp server detection but no one in Amarok Team nor KDE Team knows if it comes from kio-upnp or cagibi.
