trying wow on arch64bit = No screens found. (Nvidia)

Hi yikes)

I've just installed ArchLinux 64bit a couple of days ago. And got the Xorg up, and gnome. The I thought i would try to play wow.
So I try to run it with sudo wine Launcher.exe -opengl
That part did good, exept it did ask me if I want to install some upgrades in order for wine to work. I clicked yes 2 or 3 times and it startet up, just like windows - and I could click play, then It wont play, It failed sayin:

Failed to find a suitable display device. Exiting program

so I reboot the system, and then it failed to run Xorg/gnome.

My Xorg log is this:

I cant modprobe Nvidia, I've tried reinstalling nvidia, that didnt help either.
I've now heard that I need wine 32bit to run wow on my 64bit system, and I'm gonna try that... as soon as Xorg works again.. wink
I've also tried dmesg - but I dont know how to put all that text into here, which file should i cp to my windows ntfs disk ?

Re: trying wow on arch64bit = No screens found. (Nvidia)

i was having exactly this problem, being new to linux it took me a bit of time and a lot of reading but figured it out thanks to the wiki (which is awesome !)

Using WINEARCH

If you are using wine from [multilib], you will notice that winecfg will get you a 64-bit wine environment by default. You can change this behavior using the WINEARCH environment variable. Rename your ~/.wine directory and create a new wine environment by running:

$ WINEARCH=win32 winecfg

-----

32-bit Graphics Card Drivers

You should install these if you don't want crippled 3D performance on a x86-64 system. Note that you need to have [multilib] repository enabled if you want to install them using pacman. You can also try to search the AUR.

    NVIDIA:

    # pacman -S lib32-nvidia-utils

-----

This should get you up and running, hope it works big_smile
