Evolution GLib-CRITICAL on start

[dext@triesen ~]$ evolution

(evolution:21575): GLib-CRITICAL **: the GVariant format string `(u)' has a type of `(u)' but the given value has a type of `(s)'

(evolution:21575): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_variant_get: assertion `valid_format_string (format_string, TRUE, value)' failed

I think, that is everything I need to say wink

Re: Evolution GLib-CRITICAL on start

I have the same problem. I tried running it as root, and evolution started up fine, asked me to create a new account; i.e., it seems that the problem is somewhere in /my/ home directory.

I then tried a pacman -Rnf to purge all my data, then reinstalled, and am still getting the error. For the hell of it, here's the error as I get it:

[ryan@theMothership:~]$ evolution

(evolution:6099): GLib-CRITICAL **: the GVariant format string `(u)' has a type of `(u)' but the given value has a type of `(s)'

(evolution:6099): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_variant_get: assertion `valid_format_string (format_string, TRUE, value)' failed
[ryan@theMothership:~]$

So it just spits out the error and throws me back into the terminal. If anyone can offer any advice, I'd be thrilled to hear it. Otherwise, I guess I'll start looking for a new email client....

EDIT: I got it to start up by disabling plugins. Use:

evolution --disable-eplugin

No idea what to do from here to get plugins working again, but at least evolution is working!
