I've been struggling on and off to get wireless to work for weeks. This is a Microsoft MN-720 card for my Compaq Armada M300. I can get green lights on my wireless card by modprobing yenta_socket. However, I can't get wireless to work.. wlan0 never seems to show up. For example:
$ iwconfig
lo no wireless extensions.
sit0 no wireless extensions.
eth0 no wireless extensions.
I've read through the wiki, the forum, everything, and I'm so confused. My wireless card is listed in the wlan-ng project so I pacman -S'ed that. If I try running it, I get:
$ sudo /etc/rc.d/wlan start
:: Starting WLAN Devices [BUSY]
FATAL: Module p80211 not found.
Failed to load p80211.o.
I have no idea what this p80211 module is or where it is specified. I've looked in every config file I can find.
If someone can please point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.

Modprobing yenta_socket gives you access on the pcmcia card, this is step one. Step two will be to load the drivers you need to run the card.
I have no idea about p80211, but it seems to be a kernel module, doesn't it. So, if it is part of your kernel's modules, try to load it using the
'modprobe p80211' command.

stoncrest: you wrote that it was a microsoft wireless card?! Is it compatible with Linux? if not, maybe try ndiswrapper to wrap your windows driver around it..
there are some good articles/posts about wireless around here somewhere...search for wireless

Thanks for the help everyone! A little embarrassing but indeed I needed ndiswrapper instead of wlan-ng. I went through the wiki to the list of wlan-ng supported cards, but I didn't realize that it was a complete list of all cards and denotes which ones work with wlan-ng rather than just being a list of which cards work with wlan-ng...
Anyway, I am up and running! Thanks to phrakture for some help in the irc chat as well..
