When I try to find a window I just open the OpenBox desktop menu. It shows all desktops in a list with all open windows (of course sorted .
Super+space (opens the menu), up/down for navigating and enter for going to the choosen window really does the trick for me.

Also a good thing is, that you can add/remove desktops in this menu.
