Expected Pacman delay between files download?

Hi, it never bothers me much but what is expected behaviour of pacman in terms of downloading packages? Im curious if I've got everything set up correctly, in my case when downloading of one package is finished pacman needs couple seconds break (~5-10s or more) between another package could start (download speed is fine, mirror is good - mirrors.kernel.org). So what's your default pacman (not wget/aria or powerpill powered) download process looks like?

The symptoms sound like a dns problem

Or the OP is using an FTP mirror which means libfetch needs to reestablish a new connection for every package.

Re: Expected Pacman delay between files download?

thanks for the tip skunktrader! I was searching forum before and find track leading to DNS issues I even played a little with dnsmasq but didn't worked, now with your comments I knew a have to dig deeper, with proper configuration of dnsmasq and dns caching pacman is flying! smile firefox also seems to be faster

I had to disable dhcp in dnsmasq.conf because dnsmasq was overwriting my resolv.conf with every network daemon restart, so my question is: with dnsmasq (witch dhcp enabled) do i need dhcpcd? what is ideal configuration of pc with dynamic ip? (is it possible to setup this only with dhcpcd or I need dhcpcd along with something like dnsmasq? i don't want to duplicate things in my system)
