No 3d Acceleration in Games

I followed the wiki guide for the latest ATI drivers and everything seems fine. glxgears runs very fast with 2000+ frames per second and around 400fps in fgl_glxgears. the output of glxinfo is below:

The problem is that in games that use 3d I don't seem to have any acceleration. For example gltron barely runs, same story with neverball. They are clearly not getting any sort of acceleration bonuses. Any ideas?

Re: No 3d Acceleration in Games

Do a

 ls -l /usr/X11R6/lib/libGL*

and make sure your libGL.so files are pointing at your drivers.

Saying that, I know thats a prob with Nvidia, not sure about ATi

Re: No 3d Acceleration in Games

I also do not seem to get any 3d acceleration in gnome in general. For example when I goto logout the fade to black is very chunky and slow and indicative of now acceleration
