Hi all.
I'm running an Openbox/tint2 set up. In Firefox and all other KDE applications, my fonts are too big. I've set them to what I want them to be in both Obconf, .gtkrc-2.0, and lxappearance, but they don't seem to change in my apps. Any idea if I'm missing a step?

Are you running KDE or Openbox? KDE will have its own settings for fonts

I'm running Openbox. I'm pretty sure I've followed the steps to changing GTK fonts but it doesn't seem to be working.
[tommy@tagger ~]$ cat ~/.gtkrc-2.0
# DO NOT EDIT! This file will be overwritten by LXAppearance.
# Any customization should be done in ~/.gtkrc-2.0.mine instead.
gtk-theme-name="Clearlooks"
gtk-icon-theme-name="gnome"
gtk-font-name="DejaVu Sans 8"
gtk-cursor-theme-size=18
gtk-toolbar-style=GTK_TOOLBAR_BOTH_HORIZ
gtk-toolbar-icon-size=GTK_ICON_SIZE_LARGE_TOOLBAR
gtk-button-images=0
gtk-menu-images=0
gtk-enable-event-sounds=0
gtk-enable-input-feedback-sounds=0
include "/home/tommy/.gtkrc-2.0.mine"
[tommy@tagger ~]$ cat ~/gtkrc.mine
style "user-font"
{
font_name = "DejaVu Sans 8"
}
widget_class "*" style "user-font"
gtk-font-name = "DejaVu Sans 8"
gtk-xft-antialias = 1
gtk-xft-hinting = 1
gtk-xft-hintstyle = "hintfull"
gtk-xft-rgba = "rgb"
I just realized I said KDE above. I meant GTK. Firefox is GTK-based, right?

Try https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 09#p817709
You may need to install gtk-chtheme first.

I used that, didn't change Firefox's fonts at all. They're still size 12 Sans.

How about setting them via userChrome.css: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 44#p138244

Sweet, thanks. I looked at something like that online before but I could never find mine. For those of you with the same problem, try looking here:
[tommy@tagger ~]$ cd .mozilla/firefox/xxxxxxxx.default/chrome
I don't know what that xxxxxxxx.default crap is (the x's will be numbers/letters) but hey.
There are some sample files in there to help you customize what you want.

locate userChrome-example.css
will tell you where it is :-)
Just copy userChrome-example.css to userChrome.css.

I didn't know there was a userChrome-example.css until I saw it. Can't look for what I don't know exists =o

Have you read the post I linked to?
If you have Firefox installed, look in its embedded Chrome directory. Mine has a file called userChrome-example.css.
