After KDE 4.6 has been released I made a fresh Arch install and since then I rather often experience a plasma crash on logout. I managed to find out that this crash is related to the notification plasmoid. That means that the crash occurs if and only if there is an unclosed notification. I can reproduce this crash every time just by performing some action that produces notification (e.g. copying a file) and then not closing it with a little cross in the upper right part.
So if notification plasmoid shows e.g. "1" on it meaning one unread notification, then there certainly will be a plasma crash on logout. If I close all notifications so that the plasmoid just shows "i" on it, there is no crash.
