Howdy,
I have been having issues with Handbrake and was wondering if anyone else was having issues opening the gui.
I can installed Handbrake with
pacman -S handbrake
but then I have troubles issuing a command to load handbrake.
Note the HandBrakeCLI version works just fine however, I would like to be able to use the gui version at times.
Thanks
jash

If you mean that you don't know the name of the command to launch Handbrake's GUI, try:
pacman -Ql handbrake

$ ghb
Arch x86_64

Been awhile since i've used it, but last time it was:
[crouse@VistaCrusher ~]$ HandBrakeCLI --two-pass --turbo -i /dev/cdrom -o /home/crouse/SOMEDVDHERE.avi
Offline
For whatever reason it installs to /usr/bin/ghb
Knowing I'd never remember that I made a symlink
# ln -s /usr/bin/ghb /usr/bin/handbrake
Rauchen verboten

Yes, which is why you should never leave your DVD rip unattended

Thanks for the assistance everyone.
Yeah for some reason it seems like not too long ago "handbrake" seemed to work to launch the gui but now I will use "ghb".
Thanks, stqn for expanding my knowledge of pacman. :-)

I know it's solved already, but I figured I would throw in another easy solution.
If you ever need to find the name of a program that you just installed, just go to /bin and type ths ls command. That way you see everything in alphabetical order, and can easily find the one you're looking for if it is there. If it's not in that folder, try /sbin, or /usr/bin, or /usr/sbin.

Due to the symlinks in modern Arch, those are all the same folder. I also don't see how what you suggest would help someone who doesn't already know they're looking for a binary named "ghb".
Closing.
