Display glitches with KDE4.6 [SOLVED]

Is anybody else getting some display artifacts with KDE4.6? I particularly see it after closing a window that has overlapped the main panel.

What graphics chipset and driver do you have?

Re: Display glitches with KDE4.6 [SOLVED]

Same thing here.
I got the main panel on top, and each time I open/close Yakuake (it opens top-down), some parts (if not all) of the panel keep displaying some pieces of the terminal emulator, and I can't see it anymore, until I move my mouse over or some app force a refresh of the desktop.
Nvidia Geforce 275 GTX with proprietary driver version 260.19.36.

You and I have precisely the same problem. I have the main panel across the top and I use Yakuake a lot, opening it top-down. To make the artifact go away, I do as you do -- move my mouse over the artifact to make it repaint that part of the screen.

If anybody has a clue about how to stop this, I'm all ears. I use Yakuake to do almost all of my console activities, so this is happening many times a day.

Re: Display glitches with KDE4.6 [SOLVED]

Open the Yakuake Settings i.e. Configure Yakuake -> Window Tab -> Untick the "Ask Window Manager to perform the animation" checkbox.

It should solve the visual issues with the top panel and revert to the previous roll down animation. Kwin and yakuake developers know about this and are investigating the bug.

Thank you very much, zephyr. Since this is a suitable workaround, I'm marking this "solved."
