Trying to revive my ipod shuffle.

Today I was going to make a backup of my configs and put them on a usb flash drive. Its a U3 drive so I was hoping a dd zero would get rid of anything like that, Well long story short, I had a device name typo and now my shuffle is dead. After a bit of googling I found: http://www.gnu.org/software/gnupod/gnupod.html I downloaded the firmware for a 2nd gen shuffle. I found how typical ipods access firmware here: http://ipl.derpapst.eu/wiki/Firmware, Apparently the shuffle doesnt use the usual firmware in partition 1 and data in partition 2 scheme. I guess it isn't a huge loss if i never get it working, but I'd still like to get at least one of my music players working in linux. If anyone that perhaps has a 2nd Gen Shuffle, I would be very grateful for an image of it.
