Hi!
I've just updated kde to 4.6 and I have issue with opengl window effects. In previous version of kde opengl wasn't even working, now it is. I can enable all plugins but transparency is not working(it's not making any difference if there is blur plugin enabled)- tranparent areas are black and not transparent. How can I solve this issue? Im using netbook with gma950 gpu and atom cpu

The general rule of thumb with most distros I've tried (for some reason) is to enter System Settings->Workspace Appearance Desktop Effects (again, with the moving the modules...)->Advanced and check "Disable Functionality Checks." If that doesn't help, maybe posting info about your gpu driver with you next post will help someone figure this out; I'm not sure what driver the gma950 uses, but I'm using the Catalyst ATI driver without problems.

I have similar problem with intel graphics. Blur effect isn't working at all. At least transparency is ok. Before insalling new kde4.6 I had removed ~/.kde4 folder.
More info:
pacman -Q | grep -E "(intel)|(mesa)"
intel-dri 7.10-1
mesa 7.10-1
mesa-demos 8.0.1-1
xf86-video-intel 2.14.0-1

I removed .kde4 folder too and nothing changed

Finally I know why the blur didn't work. `glxinfo |grep render' returned 'direct rendering: NO', because I put (by mistake) this line to /etc/profile: 'export LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT=1'. I've deleted the line and now direct rendering is YES and also the blur effect is working.

I didn't add this entry to /etc/profiles. But, after kernel/xorg/mesa update blur is finally working but system is reacting with delay.
