xterm -e mutt -y = crash

I've noticed that when I run

mutt -y

from an open xterm it works just fine, but when i invoke the mail client by

xterm -e mutt -y

, there is something wrong with the display of mailboxes etc. I've checked it under KDE as well as Fluxbox so it must be something with xorg?
Could you check if you have the same?

The system is up-to-date.
xorg 6.8.2-2
mutt 1.4.2 but this is the same with 1.5.9 version.

Any idea?

Re: xterm -e mutt -y = crash

The problem has gone after mutt compilation "--with-slang" option. Now "xterm -e mutt -y" behaves as I want. So it must be something with ncurses library...

xterm -e "mutt -y"

:-)

To err is human... to really foul up requires the root password.

Re: xterm -e mutt -y = crash

I've tried this and it didn't help. Well, it's ok when I type

xterm -e mutt -y

or

xterm -e "mutt -y"

from an open xterm. The problem occurs when I use such a command from "Alt F2" run or from an added icon in the Kde menu panel and from "Run" in FVWM. Again with slang library every possibility I've mentioned works great.
