Using customized versions of the Shiki-Brave Openbox theme and the Shiki-Dark GTK theme.  Ripped the wallpaper off of 8bitpeoples.com and removed all the color in GIMP.

Hacker News has persuaded me of looking into LISP, so I am here learning Scheme. I hear that the language is actually pretty simple, but the learning resources that I found weren’t getting to the different features quickly enough for me, so I am currently reading the R5RS standard. The black on white colour scheme is inspired by some screenshots from LISP machines. Those screenshots convinced me that black on white can be pretty old school as well. I also read this thread which indicated that black on white may have a number of advantages.

Which issue? Also, what are you using in order to learn?

I have been looking at some of the example codes of SICP, and have looked into the text when I wanted relevant information. I have also looked at example codes given in the guile-tut info page. When I refer to R5RS I mean this at schemers.org. I use guile and sometimes compare with bigloo. I have noticed that they act differently with fractions. I use rlwrap, which gives me line editing features and parenthese matching in the REPLs.

Having learnt some Haskell quite recently, another functional programming language, a lot of Scheme seems pretty straight-forward.

Re: February 2011 Screenshots

My first attempt at a tiling wm. I'm glad I tried it. It's very different from what I'm used to, but I'm starting to get the hang of it and appreciate it. I tried Awesome but ended up at DWM. Here is my initial setup on my netbook. It's pretty basic. I've only been playing with it for a week or so, and much of it is new to me. I borrowed most or all from the wiki and this forum. Thank you, I'm learning a lot and having fun! Here are my screenshots and configs. It's a work in progress. I'll update my configs as I go along. Any criticism or suggestions are welcome.
