After upgrading from 3.2.1-5 to 3.3.0-1, "OpenOffice Writer", "File/Print" complains "No default printer found. Please choose a printer and try again." Printer works as usual, that complaint is just annoying. I deleted and added the printer, deleted OpenOffice's configuration files. I checked that with "3.2.1-5" there is no such problem. There is no such problen in "gedit" and "firefox" (they use another printer dialog). Please help to localize the bug.

Try going into the CUPS sever and resetting your printer - just choose Modify Printer, choose the same options and save and also make sure the printer is set to default. That worked for me.

Removing of "/etc/cups" and reinstalling of "cups" solved it.

Another way of solving it is to run spadmin and select your default printer. Worked for me when I received this error.

This error came back out of nowhere. And the solutions above do not work. Also this crap hangs up my HP printer constantly. I've switched to Abiword.

Those solutions don't work for me also. Probably an OpenOffice bug.

I went into the CUPS web interface, selected my printer, used the drop down "Administration" and clicked on "Set as Server Default". Worked like a charm.
